1974 Napa & Alexander Valleys Chardonnay

Winemaker's Notes
This vintage is one more example of the style of Chardonnay which has pleased even the most sophisticated French palates.

Vintage Weather
Temperate Consistent. Cool spring with a touch of frost.  Long, cool summer.  Ideal ripening conditions during crush.  Excellent, well-balanced fruit.  A memorable vintage.

Tasting Notes
In comparison to the previous two vintages, the ’74 Chardonnay is a bigger, fuller bodied wine with enough strength to warrant extended bottle aging of up to four years.  Of particular merit is the delicate balance of wood complexities with varietal flavors that were attained through six months of aging in sixty (60) gallon Limousine Oak Barrels.
